My blog today is featuring one of my fave radio shows, UnRestricted on Accelerated Radio with DJ Moonbaby. I love this show because its not your traditional commercial music you hear on your local radio station, it's UnRestricted. DJ Moonbaby's concept of UnRestricted is "a musical landscape for discovery. Curating the classics of yesterday with the new music for tomorrow; giving Indie artists a platform to be heard while blending with the hottest mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop/Gospel/Jazz/Soul & Eclectic sounds of today. This show is for true music lovers & sound seekers who enjoy discovering beyond the traditional airwaves".
This concept comes from her love of music at an early age. From the time she played her first record, Stevie Wonder's "Hotter than
July" on her pre-schools Fisher Price record player, Moonbaby knew music would be a
huge influence in her life. Growing up listening to select radio
stations in Los Angeles and her father’s record collection, she developed a
keen ear for her musical selection and taste. Moonbaby speaks through her music as a writer
would through poetry. DJ Moonbaby has her own style and unique blend
of Down-Tempo, Jazz, Urban Alternative, Gospel, Soul, Funk, R&B and
Hip Hop. Exposing good music that deserves to be heard is her #1 goal.
Her first live show last week was great, the music was amazing. She played some of everything from The Dream to Jay Z to Robert Glasper to Elli Ingram. With DJ Moonbaby you don't just get music, you get interviews with artists like singer/songwriter Kelly Price & Grammy Award winner Robert Glasper.
